Minister helps launch the Local Farm Produce website
The Local Farm Produce website was officially launched in Bundaberg on the 7th July with the help of Member for Bundaberg Leanne Donaldson, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries as well as Katherine Mergard, Manager of Bundaberg and North Burnett Tourism (BNBT).
Katherine spoke about Winterfeast and the Minister spoke about the benefits of this website and how there is a strong consumer demand to find local produce. Then founder Sarah Waldock introduced the team (a local Bundaberg family) behind the Local Farm Produce website, ran through the background behind the website, its benefits for both farmers and consumers/tourists/restaurants and also ran through the website to show some of the key features.
The evening was a celebration for the Local Farm Produce team on reaching this milestone after twelve months of hard work, but it was also a celebration of the amazing local produce and the Winterfeast Festival in the Bundaberg North Burnett region.
The room was buzzing with excitement about this new initiative and filled with the smell of beautiful local oriental Lilies. It was a wonderful evening with representatives from Tourism and Events Queensland, The Bundaberg City Council, StartupBundaberg, Bundaberg and District Chamber of Commerce, Bundaberg Fruit and Vegetable Growers, Catalyst Directions, MRH Lawyers, as well as local Bundaberg producers.
