Here you will find quality seafood, a vast array of fruit and vegetables and local cafes and restaurants that actively source and showcase the amazing produce in this region. Did you know that this region is the biggest producer of sweet potatoes, macadamias and tomatoes in Australia? The local fishing fleet brings in coral trout, snapper, emperor, barramundi, crabs, and Moreton Bay bugs. Inland on the river flats of the North Burnett you will find a lot of beef, dairy and citrus producers. There is a food movement underway in this entire region and the locals are spoilt for choice. Don’t forget to jump across to beautiful Lady Elliot Island in the Southern Great Barrier Reef region while you’re visiting this tasty region.
