Welcome to the Fleurieu Peninsula; a region packed with lots of individual wine regions all within an hour’s drive from Adelaide. The Fleurieu Peninsula has over 90 cellar doors for you to visit but there is more to this region than just good wine; it also has beautiful countryside, grain fields, cattle and vegetable farms, orchards, olives, dairies, beaches, whale watching, many outdoor activities, golfing and is home to South Australia’s most popular beachside town, Victor Harbor. One notable wine region is the McLaren Vale; which produces some outstanding wines and is famous for Shiraz. One must-see icon of the McLaren Vale is the d’Arenberg Cube which looks like a large 5 storey glass Rubik’s cube, but is filled with luxury dining and imaginative cellar door experiences. This region is also home to Australia’s first nudist beach and hosts an annual cow race.
