Welcome to Kangaroo Island; a sanctuary for wildlife, a place of rugged natural beauty, a hub of gourmet producers, an official wine region and it’s only a short ferry ride away from the mainland. On Kangaroo island you can see kangaroos feeding at dusk, Australian sea lions, koalas, penguins and dolphins. The seafood specialties of Kangaroo Island include oysters and abalini (baby abalone), whilst it’s gourmet products include sheep and goat cheeses, local Ligurian honey, farmed marron (freshwater crayfish) and gin from its local juniper berries. While on Kangaroo island you should go on the Kangaroo Island Farm Gate and Cellar Door Trail to taste a good cross section of what the island has to offer. Apart from being a delicious place to visit, there is also stunning coastlines, surfing hotspots, hiking trails, art galleries, shipwreck diving and fishing for giant cuttlefish to be enjoyed.
