Welcome to the RTO Cradle Coast region; a large region consisting of King island, the west coast and the north west coast of Tasmania. The West Coast is home to Tasmanian’s Wilderness World Heritage Area, Sarah Island (which was one of the harshest penal colony settlements in our country), national parks and historic mining towns. The North West is home to beautiful scenery, Cradle Mountain, great coastal drives, Aboriginal heritage, art galleries, rainforests, scenic coastal towns, national parks, great food and wine, and rich farmlands. The North West is packed full of quality fruits, vegetables, wines, distilleries, gourmet treats, dairy farms and cheese makers. There is a Cradle to Coast Tasting Trail you can follow to experience some of Tasmania’s premium gourmet produce and products. King Island which lies off the coast from the North West coastline, is famous for seriously good produce. This crisp clean island is renowned for exceptionally good cheese and dairy products, fresh caught seafood, honey, beef, and fruits and vegetables. King Island hosts the annual Long Table Festival to celebrate its amazing local produce.
